I have been asked to speak on Generational family impact. I will love to start by defining each of those words and then merge them together. So let's start.
Family is God's idea. It is one of the few things, out of the many things God planned to do for man, that he got to do before man fell! That means the institution came before the fall! Like, everything God does, family has a purpose
Family is to be God's outlet of expression, his medium of impact and influence! Don't forget that statement! Keep it!
Family, and not just individuals, was designed to be God's outlet of expression, his medium of impact and influence! Let me try to explain that. Contrary to popular thinking, the core of God's creation was not Adam! It was Adam and Eve. That was why eve's decision had impact!!!
God will hold individuals accountable, but will hold the group (family) responsible! Let these words bless you. God works like this.
He works from one to many, from inside to outside. From Jerusalem to Judea. From Adam to humanity. From Jesus to humanity etc. From Eden to the whole world...
See? He works from a core outside... till he gains ground. Now what is that core? You will think, an individual... Yes, initially And No, finally God reaches out to an individual. We meet God on individual grounds. When the man yields, God asks to meet him as a family person.
I pray you get this!!!!
God is a family God. Jesus called him father. So he thinks family... When he calls, he calls alone. As he deals with you, he asks for your home. The height of his impact will resonate at the level of the household. Because homes are not available God has settled over time for individuals. It is important to recognise this for the body of Christ to come into the fullness of God's plan for her.
God reaches out to men, so he can raise and use homes!!!! Let's see the Bible.
Is 51: 1-2
(1). Hearken to me, ye that follow after righteousness, ye that seek the LORD: look unto the rock whence ye are hewn, and to the hole of the pitwhence ye are digged.
(2) Look unto Abraham your father, and unto Sarah that bare you: for I called him alone, and blessed him, and increased him
Did you hear God!!!!!
He said in verse 2... Abraham, I called him out... Alone!!!! I met him as an individual... But when he wanted to ask you to look at Abraham, he said look into Abraham and his wife. God. Oh God.
I called Abraham alone, so now look into Abraham and his wife!!! Do you see light? Your height for God, will be as you make your home available.
Men have failed, making themselves available, not knowing God wants the whole family.

He said have you seen my servant Job, his wife's name was irrelevant... Job was for God, his wife was on her own.
Still on Abraham, see Heb 11... Let me show you something you might have always missed every time you read!!! Let me ask you, In Abraham 's home, who got the faith for Isaac to be born?'

Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised.
The three great words there are, 'AlSO, SARAH HERSELF'
it was a family thing. Abraham's faith was not enough. Sarah too is got to bring something on board!!! Do you see light?
So he man or woman will meet with God individually and God will ask for his wife/husband and children. They may refuse but God will ask.
Isaac didn't know anything when God told his father to kill him for HIM. When God asks for your family!!! Now he means business. Let me pray for you, that your home will be heavens open access in earth in the name of Jesus
There is no reason to rush, let's settle this issue of family, then we talk about impact. The honour of God is upon the seed of the called. When God honours a man, he extends to his family
Hence God was interested in Samson's wife... he could never successfully be a Delilah man! Never.
Thus Abraham's wife couldn't not be hijacked. God said he would kill the king HIMSELF.
The new testament deals a lot with individuals and their fellowship with God. The new testament deals a lot with individuals and their fellowship with God. And we have in a sense been made to think family may not matter in the new testament.
Its not true.
That Paul didn't marry, he didn't leave us an example to follow.
The church is called the bride of Jesus. God uses family analogy to describe kingdom features. It is a family kingdom. The new testament's emphasis on individuals is because it forms the basis... God wanted us to get the basics. Come to me yourself. But it is not the ultimate... the ultimate is ... you and your household.
So you hear statements like.
A man who does not provide for his own house hold.... House hold of faith...
When God made fish and monkeys, he acted alone by the word. When he wanted to make man, he called his family together... come, LET US make man... There are some things you can make alone. To make 'a man'... you need your home!
'A man' here can mean anything. New testament!!!! The only man, Apollo, people ever openly said they preferred to Paul was mentored by a family. Aquilla and Priscilla... your home matters
Ananias couldn't die alone. It was a family decision. It was as though God was saying to them, 'If it is not family impact, then it is family burial'.
Poor couple.... What killed Jonathan? He was not a rebel. God had no personal issues with him.
He died because of family issues. He supported a father, THE FATHER, had rejected.
Let me pray for you again, that upon the face of the earth, when God needs a home to use as an expression of his grace and mercy, you home will be readily available in the name of Jesus!!!!!
Joshua's valedictory service, when he told the Israelites to pick one between death and life, he added that he had made his own decision. Listen to him
As for me and my house, the lord we shall serve.
Not as for me alone. Great men understand that God moves in families. It was God's reason for reprimanding Eli the Priest. He couldn't teach his family, he became useless.
God is not short sighted. If he saw you and blessed you in Jesus before the foundation of the world, then be sure he sees your seed in you right now even though you don't know your spouse yet!
Lesson 1: Your life assignment at its best, will never be in isolation of your family. Look at your spouse very well, if you want God's best, you had better let him or her in.
'Two... are better than one.' is not a suggestion, it is the instruction of life!
let's talk about impact now!
Impact. Impact impact
Impact means strong or significant influence and effect! God does not do things for fun, he does things for results.
When I just got born again and learnt that with God, all things are possible, I used to sit in front of electricity bulbs when there is no supply and talk in tongues for the thing to light up. With time I understood that he that talks in tongues, speaketh not unto nepa
But back then it really bothered me. Why wouldn't the light come on... I thought. I was young in faith.
I had not yet understood the character of God and why he does what he does. Some folks are like that. They don't get it that Gods power is not available for show off, it is for delivery of mandates and assignments. It is for impact.
With time I learnt I couldn't make the holy spirit my professor pela. He can do anything, but not to gratiate my curiosity, but it is to cause an impact.
The kingdom of God is on an assignment. The energy of that kingdom is dispensed only in the fulfilment of that assignment.
Of recent I saw a magician on TV, who walked on water... And some one said, ehn ehn Christians should be doing that...
I said why? Did Jesus walk on water to show he could defy Archimedes?
The Bible said there was no boat around, that means his first option was a boat
When there was no boat, and he had to go about doing good... kingdom assignment, kingdom power had to come to play!!!
Do you see light?
Every action of God is impact oriented. God makes a move to make a point! Every move, every word, every relationship, every blessing in your life is for a reason. What reason? Impact.
Settle this in your heart. You are for kingdom impact. You are for influence.
Impact has two sides to it.
1)the action
2)the feedback response.
The action.
This talks about what you do, to showcase the God effect. You need to pay attention now, in order to get this.
There is the God effect! The God factor. This refers to the performance of a man in life because God is with him. His results are different. His products are different...
Look at it this way. In the wilderness, if you saw the Israelites and the midianites, would you recognise the Israelites? Yes!
How?
At night there would be a pillar of fire by their camp, in the mornings it would be a thick black cloud! God wanted them to be different. They were not the richest, but they had a presence...
It is God with a man influencing his delivery
That is the God effect. If he were in business, he never goes bankrupt, in academics he shines, career wise he makes progress, in ministry he produces result.
Now listen, the God effect does not compete with other people, it won't make you RICHER THAN YOUR NEIGHBOUR, it fulfills mandates, it brings you into the performance of Gods invested stake in you.
Listen to this... And Joseph's master took him, and put him into the prison, a place where the king's prisoners werebound: and he was there in the prison.
21 But the LORD was with Joseph, and shewed him mercy, and gave him favour in the sight of the keeper of the prison. note [xref-1]
22 And the keeper of the prison committed to Joseph's hand all the prisoners that were in the prison; and whatsoever they did there, he was the doer of it.
23 The keeper of the prison looked not to any thing that was under his hand; because the LORD was with him, and that which he did, the LORD made it to prosper.
He prospered, in the prison... God was with him ... in the prison
Put it this way. God was in prison with him
Why? To ensure his results were different. To ensure he would showcase God!!!!!!!!
The God effect!

Nicodemus didn't say, teacher no man can teach these things you teach.....
No everybody can...
The difference with Jesus was in the doing....
Nicodemus was saying to Jesus, Sir, you are different. We have always been talking, but you, you talk and do... haaba!!!
Your actions should show the God effect!
When people start to take note of the divine presence with you and how it impacts on all you do... that is impact.
You turn people to your God, by showcasing what your God is doing in you.
*Christian families should show the world a God that loves. A God That does not divorce. A God that loves people, inspite of their mess.
*Christian entrepreneur should show the world how God teaches men to make profit
*Christian politicians should show the world that when the righteous rule, the people are glad.
*Making the God effect spread!!!!
*Christian students excel academically
Men will come and ask... Dr Sam, what is your secret. We too we've been doing this thing but... you are different
I pray for you, that in whatever sphere of life your influence lies, the lord makes you a voice to reckon with in the name of Jesus!
How can I create the Jesus effect as a family, that will transcend generations?
1) know the lord personally! It's always the place to start. He won't ask for your home if he has not met you. Your family impact premises on your personal timeout with God. You meet him. He will meet your spouse and children.
Be purpose oriented.
Unfortunately most folks get married for pressure! Not for purpose. We say this slot but forget it often, "God brought Eve to Adam so they can fulfil a purpose... and the one God gave..."
2. Let your marriage be purpose full
Don't over spiritualise things... if your family's purpose is not pulpit ministry don't force yourself into one, find out what you are supposed to do to be a voice for God.
3. Teach Jesus to your children, and wife
Let them know why they've been born. From a tender age tell them they are arrows in Gods hands. Say this on time before they start dancing 'Shoki' and you are wondering if you are Eli or Abraham!
4. Hold family in high esteem, everyone is important. Especially your wife! like God learn to say... come, let us make!
Differentiate personal goals from family goals. A personal goal undiscussed is not family goal. Not every idea in your head becomes family goals. Discuss and carry people along.
Some people are married and they still struggle with issues whereas two should be better than one. They are feeling maybe one is even better!!! You know why? They are two but behaving as one. They are not concentrating efforts, so no maximum and concerted effects.
This is the one thing that will make impact generational
There are temporary impacts.
Generational impact is about trust!!!!
God said I know Abraham will teach his children my ways... trust!
Trust is of the heart.
God knows if you value him or not, he knows oh..... he does ohhhhh
God trusted Jesus, Jesus didn't get his position as saviour on a platter of Gold. He was led into the wilderness BY THE SPIRIT OF GOD, TO BE TEMPTED OF THE DEVIL...
He Had to prove trustworthy
Beloved. Let God trust you. You will be shocked at the things he will give you. He has everything. He just needs men who won't embezzle!!!😉
Men he can trust to deliver. How do I know if God trusts me now?
This is it... How well have you utilised the blessings of God in your life... His gifts... spiritual, what are you doing with it? Any impact?
His gifts... natural, any response? Natural gifts are from God, even the ones in unbelievers... a brilliant Muslim got his brain from God, the devil is a dullard. Fool killed the lord of Life!
Herod was not a Christian, he didn't acknowledge his gifts were from God, God killed him.
God will trust any man who will use an initial investment with more... if Christians won't use their God-given intelligence to make phones. God will wake and use any sleeping Steve Jobs.
Use, use use.
You wife is a gift from God.
Men who don't value that gift dishonour God. I have had to repent myself on several occasions for not honouring God's gift to me in the person of my wife as I ought.
Men who call their wife witch...
They are in the danger of unfulfilled purpose
Your children are God's gift. Honour them. The honour on them is the honour God.
God talked, Sarah laughed in unbelief.
God confronted her, she said no... she didn't laugh oh, that is God was telling a lie against her
But, she called her husband Lord. GOD SAID, give her a child
If you don't honour any blessing in your life, you don't really honour God
Work is an honour. Some people run from work. They have cds everyday, even on Sundays.
God can't trust them with more responsibility
I pray for you that your life will be a fruit bearing one, one God can boast about in Jesus name.
